Very disappointed in the business practices of Howling Peaks. I made a one-on-one appointment for my pet who has become extremely reactive. I took him to get all of his immunizations (I asked for the bundle). I submitted the immunization record more than a week in advance of the appointment. On the day of the appointment I was called an advised that he was missing an immunization I have never heard of "influenza". The person who called said they would need to "reschedule". Needless to say I was disappointed. I immediately rescheduled the appointment. I then received a confirmation email stating I needed to make a "deposit" for the next appointment. I inquired into whether or not the "deposit" I made for the appointment that they "rescheduled" due to missing one vaccination would be applied to the "rescheduled" appointment. Of course not, I was told that because the appointment had not been cancelled within 48 hours the deposit was forfeited. I'm sorry, I submitted the documentation of immunizations a week beforehand. If an immunization was inadvertently missed they should have caught it by reviewing the documents submitted and I should have been advised prior to just a couple of hours before our appointment. They would not budge on insisting that I pay another "deposit". Needless to say, their business practices are very shoddy and they are only focused on money. I know I would never adopt this business model. I will definitely not recommend them because obviously instead of helping families out with reactive dogs the only thing they are focused on is the fee. Maybe employ people to review documents, place them in the appropriate client's file and let people know when an immunization is inadvertently missed. Very disappointed. Might I recommend you use the verbiage of "cancelled" versus needing to "reschedule" - two totally different meanings ...

Our dogs seemed to enjoy it here, but unfortunately the business lacks any sort of flexibility when dealing with their customers. Being in the medical field and in the military, sometimes things come up last minute and plans change so we rely on flexibility / understanding. Last summer we arranged boarding for our dogs. Plans changed due to work, and had to cancel our boarding plans. Even with a few days notice, they didn’t care. Took our deposit without question. I decided not to make a big deal about the situation though. Another similar incident occurred, I wasn’t able to drop off our dogs off due to work. Attempted to call in the morning but couldn’t get through. You are required to sign up and pre authorize pay for doggie daycare, and apparently they have no refund policy within 24 hours of the date. Sometimes things change within that 24 hours. They attempted to charge us full price for a full day of daycare for 2 dogs. Tried to explain the situation, and was met with resistance. They initially said they would not charge us for the missed day, then decided to charge us after the fact without notice. Ended up submitted a complaint though the BBB. Unlike other business that provide services, they don’t charge a late fee/ no show fee, they instead charge customers full price even for services not rendered. It comes across as unethical business practice. We were told not to come back after I expressed my frustration. Needless to say, if you’re looking for a place that isn’t out for your money, and offers flexibility (for military members , medical field, etc ) this place is not it.

We adopted Hank in December. A sweet and loving rescue. After 3 weeks he became very reactive to new people and dogs. I was afraid we would never be able to welcome guests in our home. After 2 training sessions with Holly we have a whole new dog! Her knowledge and experience with dog behaviors has been invaluable.
